What?

Come and listen to your transportation peers across the country who have implemented Complete Streets discuss the following:

  • Practical implementation of complete streets, focusing on retrofitting Complete Streets into existing roadways
  • Design standards that had to be updated/changed
  • Issues faced during the project design phase
  • Public Outreach on Complete Streets - what worked well, what did not
  • Pros and Cons of Complete Streets - during design, construction and after implementation
  • Examples of Implementation, actual new construction or retrofitting - what worked well and what did not. How did the driving public accept the change once constructed?
  • Lessons learned
The National Complete Streets Coalition defines Complete Streets as streets for everyone. They are designed and operated to enable safe access for all users. People of all ages and abilities are able to safely move along and across streets in a community, regardless of how they are traveling. Complete Streets make it easy to cross the street, walk to shops, and bicycle to work. They allow buses to run on time and make it safe for people to walk to and from train stations.
