 Accommodations for the 36th Annual North American Association of Transportation Safety and Health Officials (NAATSHO) Conference are available at The Hotel Monteleone, 214 Royal Street, New Orleans, Louisiana. Visit the website at www.hotelmonteleone.com. Room rates are $85 for a single/double plus applicable city and state taxes (13%) and a $2 per room night occupancy tax. Each additional person is $25. Reservations at the conference rate will be available until the cutoff date of July 10, 2003. For hotel reservations, individuals should contact The Hotel Monteleone at (504) 523-3341 or by calling the Group Reservation number at 1-800-217-2033. When making reservations please identify yourself as an attendee of the North American Association of Transportation Safety and Health Officials conference to ensure that you receive the conference rate. The conference rates are extended from Saturday, August 2, 2003 through Saturday, August 9, 2003. Reservations must be guaranteed by one night's deposit or a major credit card. Individual guest room deposits will be refunded if reservations are cancelled 72 hours prior to date of arrival. Please confirm your room rate when you make your reservations and confirm the room rate upon your arrival at the hotel. Please assist us in keeping conference cost down by meeting our room block requirements at the hotel. The special hotel rates are in effect until July 10, 2003. Reservations made after July 10, 2003 will be accepted on a "space and rate available" basis. It is highly recommended that you make your reservations early as the hotel may sell out. Please note: Any attendee not identifying his/her affiliation with the group and not requesting the conference rate prior to check-in cannot be extended the conference rate at a later date or during or after the meeting. GROUND TRANSPORTATION Airport shuttle service is available to the hotels in the French Quarter/Central Business District (CBD) for $20.00 (round-trip, per person, three bags per person). Call 1-866-596-2699 or (504) 522-3500 for more details. For group reservations or ADA transfers please dial 1-888-432-7651. Ticket booths are located on the lower level in the baggage claim area. Advance reservations are required for all ADA accessible transfers. Please call well enough in advance for the specially-equipped shuttle to be reserved. Taxi fare costs $28.00 to the French Quarter/Central Business District (CBD) for one or two persons and $12.00 (per passenger) for three or more passengers. Pick-up is on the lower level, outside the baggage claim area. There may be an additional charge for extra baggage. The Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport is serviced by Alamo, Avis, Budget, Hertz, National Car Rental, and Thrifty Car Rental agencies. These offices are located on the lower level of the airport. Check with each company for rates. DRIVING DIRECTIONS FROM MAJOR ROADWAYS (NOTE: HOTEL PARKING FEES ARE $19/PER DAY) From Mississippi, Alabama, etc.: Head I-10 West towards Baton Rouge. Exit Orleans Ave./Vieux Carre (235A). Proceed down ramp and turn left at the light. Continue on Orleans Ave under Interstate. Orleans Ave. becomes Basin Street. Continue on Orleans/Basin for .6 miles. Turn left on Conti Street. Continue six blocks (.5 miles), turn right on Decatur Street, then right on Bienville St. You will see the garage for the Hotel Monteleone on your left side approximately 1 ½ blocks down. From Airport, Baton Rouge, Texas, etc.: Head I-10 East towards New Orleans Business District and Slidell. Exit Superdome/Poydras Street (Exit 234B). Proceed down ramp and continue straight about 7 or 8 blocks, staying in left hand lane. Turn left onto Camp Street and continue about 4 blocks to Canal Street (a big 2-way Boulevard). Cross over Canal Street which turns into Chartres Street (in the French Quarter). Go 2 blocks on Chartres and take a left on Bienville Street. Halfway down the street, you will see the garage entrance for the Hotel Monteleone. |
