Phi Kappa Phi Awards

Since 1932, Phi Kappa Phi has supported the educational pursuits of its members through robust award and grant programs. The Society awards $1.3 million each year to outstanding students, members, chapters and institutions. There is a program for everyone!

Pioneer Award

Pioneer Awards are designed to encourage and reward undergraduate members for developing the research, engagement and leadership skills necessary to become a successful scholar. Fifty $1,000 awards are distributed annually. LEARN MORE

Fellowships

Fifty-four Fellowships of $8,500 each, six at $20,000 each and two at $35,000 each are awarded to members entering the first year of graduate or professional study. LEARN MORE

Study Abroad

One hundred twenty-five $1,000 grants are awarded each year and support undergraduates as they seek knowledge and experience in their academic fields by studying abroad. LEARN MORE

Dissertation Fellowship

Fifteen Dissertation Fellowships of $10,000 each are awarded annually to active members who are doctoral candidates and are completing dissertations. The fellowship supports students in the dissertation writing stage of doctoral study and is for 12 months of dissertation writing. LEARN MORE

Graduate Research

Grants of up to $1,500 are available to members attending graduate school to provide funding for research in support of career development opportunities, such as conducting or presenting research. LEARN MORE

Love of Learning

Two hundred awards, at $1,000 each, are distributed each year and help fund post-baccalaureate studies and career development including graduate or professional studies, doctoral dissertations, continuing education, travel related to teaching/studies, and more. LEARN MORE

Literacy

Grants of up to $2,500 are available to Phi Kappa Phi chapters and individual members to provide funding to new and ongoing projects that reinforce part of the Society’s mission to engage the community of scholars in service to others. LEARN MORE

Mary Todd Sabbatical

In honor of former Executive Director Dr. Mary Todd, the Society will honor one faculty member with a $50,000 award to support a sabbatical year or similar reassignment of duties. LEARN MORE

Distinguished Service

This award honors an individual who has provided sustained, non-compensated volunteer service to others beyond the realm of academia. LEARN MORE

Scholar and Artist

The Scholar Award recognizes excellence in teaching, research and public service, while the Artist Award recognizes the achievements of those who have displayed talents in the broad realm of the arts—creative, graphic, performing, visual and/or fine arts. LEARN MORE

Excellence in Innovation

Awarded once per biennium, the $100,000 award recognizes colleges and universities for their achievements in finding powerful answers to important local, regional, national or global challenges. LEARN MORE

Chapter Faculty and Instructor Awards

LSU Chapter of the Honor Society Phi Kappa Phi announces its 2021 recipient of the Non-Tenured Faculty and Outstanding Instructor awards co-sponsored by the LSU Alumni Association. These awards, $1,000 each, were presented to an exemplary educator at the rank of instructor and to the brightest young scholars and artists at Louisiana State University.
