Work Zone Safety Training

This hands-on workshop is designed for road, street, traffic, and utility workers—including supervisors, foremen, and crew members—whose daily responsibilities involve working within road and street rights-of-way. The course is also ideal for new employees and anyone responsible for flagging operations or maintaining work zone safety.

Emphasis is placed on keeping both workers and road users safe in and around active work zones. When weather permits, participants will take part in an outdoor exercise to practice setting up a proper flagging operation.

Course Highlights

This mini-workshop (3.5 PDHs) provides an introduction to the standards and guidelines for traffic control in street and highway construction, maintenance, utility, and incident management operations. Participants will gain practical knowledge of typical traffic control setups and the proper use of traffic control devices to help create safer work environments for all.
