Chainsaw Safety
About the Course
Chainsaws are powerful and versatile tools—but when used improperly, they can also be among the most dangerous. This course focuses on safe operation practices, risk management, and hands-on cutting techniques to help participants perform their work safely and efficiently. Designed for both experienced users and beginners, the course combines classroom instruction with an outdoor demonstration (weather permitting).
Participants are encouraged to bring their hard hats, eye protection, and hearing protection for use during the outdoor felling presentation.

Course Highlights
This course provides 6 PDHs and a comprehensive introduction or refresher for anyone who uses a chainsaw in their work duties. Participants will learn how to identify and manage hazards, apply safe cutting and felling techniques, and maintain their equipment for peak performance. The training reinforces the importance of safety awareness, communication, and preparedness—helping to build confidence and competence for safe chainsaw operation in the field.
